MIMARU Kyoto Shinmachi Sanjo

Location is close enough to the main street with shops and restaurants, however if tired after a long day of walk and do not feel like going to the main street, there are many restaurants and family mart in very close proximity. So it is a win win. One evening after shopping in the main street, we just decided to get a cab back, it was pretty cheap, a little over 1000 YEN for a family of 4.

We travelled as a family group of 5 - with 3 adult children, and stayed 4 nights. The family room worked perfectly for us...the bunks had their own light and device charger and turned out to be a great place for a bit of space and peace! Loved having the small kitchen and dining area. Close to several train lines and some wonderful places to do some shopping and enjoy a Japanese meal.

Easy check-in. Beautifully decorated room- we had the Pokémon themed room. Well appointed amenities - really appreciated the washing machine with detergent, kitchenette and pyjamas. Best front desk service- all staff spoke and understood English very well and were super helpful making restaurant bookings, calling cabs, renting bikes. The room was very clean when we arrived. The 7 eleven was great to get eggs and bread to make a quick breakfast before exploring. We could walk to the manga museum, Nishiki Market and Nijo Castle but took transport to most places.

Mimaru Kyoto perfectly met our needs! Absolutely loved our stay here. It is in a quiet area but very close to a subway station, a Fresco from which we bought our groceries, and a drug store which we ended up needing. Also close to a Starbucks and a 7-11. The rooms are very large by any standards much less Japan. Loved the small kitchen as we prepared several meals. The shower is amazing! In fact the whole room is very stylish and incredibly clean and functional. Used the washer/dryer many times. We ended up extending our stay from 8 nights to 11 and the communication via the website regarding making this change was excellent. The staff were so helpful and spoke very good English. They will order you a taxi if you need it. Amazing location! The Karasuma Oike subway station is perfect.

Loved the Mimaru hotel apartment! Left Japan with a very good experience on two Mimaru properties. Had a Japanese apartment. Room is well done. A bit on the tight side once you open the three beds on the tatami, a bit hard to walk around. But it's great for kids. Beds are very comfortable and the rooms are well designed. The staff at the reception were very helpful. Special thanks to Kai for helping us figure out how to get concert tickets! Couldn't have done it without his help!!! Loved the area, convenient yet quiet and with lots of options for food nearby. Easy walk to subway and attractions.
